Smyths Toys Review

Children playing with Smyths raised train set

When it comes to usability of a site, Symths Toys has it just right. The homepage makes it very clear that this isn’t a place just for one type of toy—it’s for all ages, sizes, and needs. The homepage is short and to the point. With a rolling slider at the top and a few toy options underneath, the page makes it clear what users will get. There’s also a very clear menu at the top with a prominent search bar to make sure you find exactly what you need.

To add extra to this site, users have prompted to sign up for the free toy catalogue. There’s a small pop up at the bottom of the screen, so it doesn’t get in the way of browsing but does attract attention. It’s a great business decision, since so many users are now fed up with intrusive pop ups.

The main downside to the site is the lack of contact information. Users have to go to the very bottom and click the signup pop up cross. There they have to find the “contact us” page or visit one of the social media platforms. The site would benefit from a phone number at the top of the page to call.
